The following provides an overview of each subject in our high school program for the year. The classical Christian approach teaches each subject within a Christ-centered framework.  The classical “tools of learning” are employed in the classroom, which accelerate the student’s acquisition of academic skills and comprehension.   The program utilizes an “omnibus” approach to studying Bible, and the history, literature, and rhetoric.

Biblical and Ancient World Philosophy -  Biblical Study:  Genesis, Exodus, 1st and 2nd Samuel, 1st and 2nd Kings, Isaiah, Minor Prophets, Luke, Acts, Galatians, Romans, James, and Chosen by God (Sproul), Holiness of God (Sproul).

Ancient World History and Ancient World Literature/Mythology :   Includes student textbook, a field trip to the ‘Getty Museum’ and the ‘Pageant of the Master’ in California, and the following primary and secondary materials:  The Holy Bible, Gilgamesh (Ferry), Til We Have Faces (Lewis), Code of Hammurabi and Moses (Davies), Lewis’ Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe series, Odyssey (Homer), Mythology (Bulfinch), Oresteia Trilogy (Aeschylus), Plutarch’s Lives (Plutarch), Theban Trilogy (Sophocles), Early History of Rome (Livy), Twelve Caesars (Suetonius), Unaborted Socrates (Kreeft), Aeneid (Virgil), Eagle of the Ninth (Sutcliff), Screwtape Letters (Lewis), Julius Caesar (Shakespeare).

Mathematics: Student is placed in mathematics appropriate for growth each year. Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, or AP Calculus

Science:  Biology and Biology Lab (Apologia)

Classics and Foreign Language:  Rhetoric and the Ancient World, Foreign Language I, Spanish II, Senior Thesis (Class of 2014)
