  The following provides an overview of each subject in our high school program for the year. The classical Christian approach teaches each subject within a Christ-centered framework.  The classical “tools of learning” are employed in the classroom, which accelerate the student’s acquisition of academic skills and comprehension.   The program utilizes an “omnibus” approach to studying Bible, and the history, literature, and rhetoric.


Biblical and Medieval World Philosophy -  Biblical Study:  Genesis, Exodus, 1st and 2nd Samuel, 1st and 2nd Kings, Isaiah, Minor Prophets, Luke, Acts, Galatians, Romans, James, and Chosen by God (Sproul), Holiness of God (Sproul).


Medieval World History and Medieval World Literature/Norse Mythology:   Includes student textbooks, and field trips to

St. Anthony’s Orthodox Greek Monastery, and the ‘Tournament of Kings’ Medieval Festival in Nevada, and the following primary and secondary materials:  The Holy Bible, Confessions (Augustine), Ecclesiastical History of English People (Bede), Eusebius:  Church History (Eusebius), Tolkien’s Hobbit, and Lord of the Rings series, The Inferno (Dante’), Saga of the Volsongs (, Song of Roland, Canterbury Tales (Chaucer), Bondage of the Will (Luther), History of the Kings of Britain (Geoffrey of Monmouth), Beowulf, On the Incarnation of Our Lord (Athanasius), Rule of St. Benedict, Merry Adventures of Robin Hood (Pyle), Shakespeare’s King Richard III, Henry V, and Midsummer Night’s Dream.


Mathematics: Student is placed in mathematics appropriate for growth each year. Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, or AP Calculus


Science:  Anatomy and Physiology and Lab (Apologia), Physics (Apologia)


Classics and Foreign Language:  Classical Writing:  Herodotus and Demosthenes, Spanish (Duel Enrollment through Grand Canyon University), Senior Thesis (Class of 2015)


Electives and Extracurricular Activities:

Fine Arts:   Art Studio, Sewing, Photography, Brass Ensemble, Drama, Handbell Choir

Service Arts:   Classroom Aide, Office Aide

Movement Arts:   Physical Education, Archery, Fencing, Sport Teams-Archery, Golf, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer
